The XERON Journal of Medical Research (XJMR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by XERON Medical Research (XMR).

The journal publishes ethically conducted and methodologically sound research in medicine, surgery, public health, biomedical sciences, medical education, nursing, allied health sciences, and healthcare technology.

XJMR is committed to scientific integrity, editorial independence, transparent peer review, responsible authorship, and the timely dissemination of medical and health-related research.

The journal is published by XERON Medical Research (XMR), a not-for-profit organisation registered under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017, with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

XMR was established in 2019 and is the parent organisation of:

  • XERON Journal of Medical Research

  • XERON Research Services

The publisher supports ethical medical research, scientific communication, research capacity building, and responsible dissemination of scholarly work.

Publication Frequency

XJMR is published biannually, with two issues each year.

The planned publication schedule is:

  • January-June

  • July-December

Special or supplementary issues may be published when approved by the editorial board.

Only use these months if this is your actual publication schedule. Otherwise, replace them with your final schedule.

Peer-review Process

Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening are normally evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process.

Under this model:

  • the identities of authors are not disclosed to reviewers;

  • the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors;

  • manuscripts are reviewed by suitably qualified subject experts; and

  • the final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorised editor.

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication.

Open-access Policy

XJMR provides immediate open access to published articles. Readers may access journal content without registration or subscription charges.

The journal supports the wider dissemination of medical evidence while requiring appropriate attribution to authors and the original source.

Copyright and Licence

Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant XJMR a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, preserve, and identify itself as the original publisher.

The journal intends to publish articles under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0)

This licence allows others to share and adapt published work, provided that appropriate credit is given and any changes are indicated.

Article Processing Charges

XJMR currently charges:

  • No manuscript submission fee

  • No article processing charge

  • No publication fee

Any future change in the fee policy will be announced clearly on the journal website before submission or acceptance.

Editorial Independence

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board are responsible for editorial decisions.

Manuscripts are assessed according to:

  • relevance to the journal’s scope;

  • originality;

  • methodological quality;

  • ethical compliance;

  • accuracy of reporting; and

  • scientific or clinical importance.

Editorial decisions are not influenced by the authors’ institutional affiliation, nationality, professional status, financial position, or use of services offered by the publisher.

Publication Ethics

XJMR does not accept:

  • plagiarism;

  • duplicate submission;

  • redundant publication;

  • fabricated or falsified data;

  • inappropriate authorship;

  • undisclosed competing interests;

  • unethical research;

  • deceptive image manipulation; or

  • interference with the peer-review process.

Concerns about submitted or published work may be investigated in accordance with the journal’s publication-ethics policies.

Digital Availability and Archiving

Published articles are permanently available through the journal website and issue archive.

XJMR is working towards the implementation of recognised digital preservation, DOI registration, and indexing arrangements. Services should only be listed as active after formal registration or confirmation.
